We are always looking for dedicated firefighters to serve our communities.

The Centennial Fire District firefighters are nearly all paid-on-call which means they respond to emergency calls when their pager goes off.

The current compensation is $10.00 to $13.00 per hour depending on certification levels. In addition to the hourly pay, $5000 is set aside each year for a pension. A firefighter must stay with the district for at least 10 years in order to collect the pension. Vesting starts at 60% at 10 years of service and goes up 4% per year until it reaches 100% at 20 years.

Our hiring process includes a background check, ability test, employee evaluation (psyche test), and an interview process. All new firefighters must complete Firefighter I & Firefighter II courses which are 175 hours in length, and an Emergency Medical Technician course, which is 120 hours in length. You must live within 8 minutes of one of our fire stations.

The department responds to about 300 calls per year and this number is divided between the two stations. Members are expected to respond to at least 25% of the calls for the assigned station. There are also two training sessions and one maintenance session that members are expected to attend monthly.
